Stolz back on top as practice concludes at Fuji

> Result: Official Practice 2

Luca Stolz marked himself and Triple Eight JMR out as the combination to beat this weekend by topping second practice at Fuji this afternoon.

The German was quickest across Thursday’s three test sessions and second behind Dennis Lind in opening practice, but returned to the top this afternoon by setting a 1m39.092s. That was less than a tenth slower than yesterday’s benchmark when track conditions were cooler and 0.368s clear of Dennis Olsen’s R&B Porsche that had led earlier in the 60-minute session.

Stolz’s first flyer nosed him ahead of Norwegian before another quick time put him well clear of the rest. Olsen responded but could only get within four tenths of the Mercedes-AMG that also features Prince Abu Ibrahim.

Seiji Ara was next up in Plus Racing with BMW Team Studie’s M4, which also topped the Fanatec Japan Cup classification from NK Racing’s Tsubasa Kondo who finished fourth.

Qualifying kicks off Saturday’s action at 09:10 before the first of this weekend’s 60-minute races goes green at 14:25 JST. Watch both live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel, as well as the latter on J Sports in Japan.
