Olsen leads Absolute Racing one-two in second practice at Sepang

> Team Studie again top the GT4 times
> Result: FP2

Dennis Olsen led an Absolute Racing one-two, plus a top-three featuring as many different Porsches, in this afternoon’s second 45-minute free practice session at Sepang.

The Dane’s best of 2m03.671s was two tenths faster than Jazeman Jaafar had managed during the day’s earlier session and the same amount clear of Tanart Sathienthirakul in the second of Absolute’s 911 GT3 Rs. The latter led with 20 minutes remaining but was overhauled by his team-mate, who shares the #912 entry with Yuan Bo.

Alex Imperatori finished one place higher than FP1 after lapping Panther/AAS Motorsport’s Porsche 0.361s shy of Olsen’s time and seven tenths quicker than Solite Indigo Racing’s Gabriele Piana.

Jaafar was more than a second slower than his FP1 benchmark en route to fifth aboard the Triple Eight Racing’s Mercedes-AMG, which finished one place and just 0.026s clear of Rio Haryanto’s T2 Motorsports Ferrari.

Craft-Bamboo’s Mercedes-AMGs filled row four, Alessio Picarrielo beating Melvin Moh by just three hundredths, while Franky Cheng (Audi Sport Asia Team Absolute Racing) and Darryl O’Young (Craft-Bamboo) completed the top-10.

Elsewhere, it was once again BMW Team Studie’s Takayuki Kinoshita and Sunako Jukuchou that claimed top-spot in GT4. The Japanese duo were a second faster than Team iRace.Win’s Chong/Santoso and Craft-Bamboo’s Yu/Merlin, who set exactly the same times.

Saturday’s busy schedule begins with official practice, continues with qualifying and concludes with the first 60-minute race of the season. Watch it live right here on www.gt-world-challenge-asia.com.
