> Pun’s Craft-Bamboo Mercedes-AMG fastest again in GT4
> Result: Official practice

Triple Eight’s Mercedes-AMG paced final practice at a wet Fuji Speedway this morning courtesy of Jazeman Jaafar who finished less than a tenth clear of championship leader Philip Hamprecht.

Meanwhile, Craft-Bamboo’s David Pun continued to impress on his series debut by once again topping the GT4 class times.

Yuan Bo’s minor off in the second of Absolute’s Porsches cut short the half-hour session by 10 minutes. Jaafar was on top at that point courtesy of a 1m51.216s that Hamprecht – who shares the points-leading Porsche with Tanart Sathienthirakul – couldn’t quite beat. The pair were separated by just 0.06s.

Behind, Alex Au belied his Am status by posting the third fastest time. VSR’s Lamborghini finished another half-tenth behind Hamprecht and 0.135s ahead of Melvin Moh who moved the best of Craft-Bamboo’s Mercedes-AMGs up to fourth just before the session was halted.

Likewise Martin Rump (Audi Sport Asia Team Absolute) and local star Yuya Kamimura (ARN Racing) who both pushed Absolute’s other R8 down to seventh late on.

In GT4, David Pun finished fastest for the second session running in Craft-Bamboo’s Mercedes-AMG, which set its best lap just before the red flags flew. The championship debutant’s 2m00.956s was half-a-second faster than BMW Team Studie’s #81 M4.

Team iRace.Win’s Mercedes-AMGs were third and fourth after #199 beat #111.

This morning’s qualifying sessions begin at 10:35 local time. Watch them live right here on the championship website.
