Phantom Pro Racing’s #333 Audi beat KCMG’s Honda by less than a tenth en route to the fastest time in Friday’s second Official Practice session at Suzuka.
Mikkel Mac’s 2m02.655s was a little under one second shy of the OP1 pace set by Shin Kawabata but fast enough to jump Edoardo Liberati whose NSX enjoyed another strong showing at its home circuit.
Porsche and Mercedes-AMG completed a top-four covered by half-a-tenth, AAS Motorsport stand-in Klaus Bachler leading Craft-Bamboo’s Maximilian Goetz.
Japan Cup entries had locked out the top-three places earlier today but the fastest of them was only fifth in OP2. Yuta Kamimura’s Porsche Center Okazaki 911 beat Team 5ZIGEN’s Nissan – which topped the earlier session – by just 0.02s.
