HubAuto had a busy season racing in Japan, recently in Macau and taking part in the challenging Motul Sepang 12 Hours this weekend, winning the Pro-Am class. The Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR entered by the team in the Blancpain GT Series Asia was on track in Sepang, with factory driver Nick Tandy at the wheel during demonstration laps in front of invited guests.
During the subsequent press conference on the Blancpain GT Series Asia, it was also revealed that the first twenty entries would receive $20,000 transport funding, making the platform even more attractive in addition to live TV, the renowned SRO Balance of Performance and racing on the best tracks Asia has to offer.
Morris Chen, HubAuto Team Principal and Driver: “We are very excited to be able to announce our racing plans this early and the Blancpain GT Series Asia platform is just perfect. Going to Japan twice is ideal for us and live TV is great for our partners. We are working on a GT3 project also, so watch this space.”
Benjamin Franassovici, Series General Manager and Director: “I am very happy to be able to confirm Morris Chen and his team in the Blancpain GT Series Asia with their new Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR. I had the honour of visiting HubAuto’s facility in Taiwan and I expect the team to aim for the highest step next season in GT4 AM/AM class. The GT4 class will excel in the future and Porsche will supply teams top customer service at all events. I can’t wait to see this class to blossom in Asia in the same way it has done in Europe and in the US.”
