X-ONE Racing’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 will now be raced by Vincent Wong and Andrew Haryanto in this season’s inaugural Blancpain GT Series Asia campaign.
Founded in late 2016, X-ONE Racing is the brainchild of Swiss entrepreneur and team owner Benjamin J. Fischer, and former Italian F1 driver turned team principal Domenico ‘Mimmo’ Schiattarella. In January they announced their intentions to also race together but will now step back from driving duties.
Their places have been taken by an all-Am pairing with plenty of GT racing experience.
Indonesian driver Haryanto is a product of Lamborghini Super Trofeo and begins his Blancpain GT Series Asia adventure as the one-make category’s recently crowned Middle East Am class champion.
Haryanto also claimed 2016′s Super Trofeo Asia Am title on count-back from new co-driver Wong, who finished fourth in the same Middle East class earlier this year. The Hong Kong native campaigned an Absolute Racing-run Bentley Continental GT3 in last season’s Asian Le Mans Series and previously contested both the Audi R8 LMS Cup and Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific championships.
Their Lamborghini joins a Blancpain GT Series Asia grid already boasting full-season entries from Aston Martin, Audi, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche.
The season’s opening pair of hour-long races take place at Sepang in Malaysia on April 8/9.
