Au and Schandorff team up aboard VSR’s Lamborghini

Vincenzo Sospiri Racing has confirmed Pro-Am pairing Alex Au and Frederik Schandorff will race its new Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo in Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia this season.

2019 marks the Italian team’s full-time return to Asia’s premier GT series after contesting the championship’s inaugural campaign two years ago. It was the same season that Hong Kong’s Au finished second in the GT3 Pro-Am standings before making several GT4 appearances towards the end of 2018.

His Danish co-driver makes his GT3 debut this season after dominating the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East championship. Schandorff is also a former domestic Formula Ford champion and Dubai 24 Hours class winner.

Meanwhile, Au will be pulling double duty at the four rounds where Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia is joined by Super Trofeo Asia. The Hong Kong driver is teaming up with Yuki Nemoto in one of VSR’s two Huracans.

Both championships begin at Sepang in Malaysia on April 6/7.
