Chang: Craft-Bamboo and Morad top Official Practice

> Result: Free Practice

Daniel Morad made a fast return to GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS by topping Official Practice at Chang this morning.

The Canadian last appeared in Shanghai at the end of 2024 but was immediately on the pace aboard the same Mercedes-AMG with which Jayden Ojeda contested Sepang and Mandalika alongside Cao Qi.

His best of 1m33.983s – the first sub-34s lap to be set this week – came right at the end of Official Practice and relieved Bastian Buus’ Origine Porsche of top spot by 0.134s.

The Dane set provisional fastest time with 15 minutes remaining by shaving less than a tenth from Ben Green’s best in the first of JMR’s Corvettes, while 5ZIGEN’s Nissan driven by Yu Kanamaru finished two tenths off Morad in fourth and topped the Silver-Am times.

As in testing, the times were incredibly close. As many different manufacturers occupied the first seven places, while one second covered the top 18.

FAW/Phantom’s Audi was fastest of the Silver entries in ninth overall, and EBM’s Mercedes-AMG topped the Am times.

The Bronze session that followed was dominated by Absolute Corse’s #29 Lamborghini which finished 0.5s faster than anyone else thanks to Huang Ruohan. LM Corsa’s Ferrari and 5ZIGEN completed the top three.

Pre-Qualifying begins at 15:10 local time.
