> Combined SRO GT PowerTour entry list: Fuji Speedway
A record combined number of entries will gather for the SRO GT PowerTour event at Fuji Speedway where Japan Cup and GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS stage their second and fourth events of the season on July 11-13.
25 cars – comfortably Japan Cup’s biggest-ever entry – are scheduled to contest the national sprint championship, while 32 appear on the continental series’ list.
The provisional total of 57 cars comfortably beats SRO Asia’s previous personal best of 49, which were split across the two championships at the same venue last year.
That included 41 GT3s, six fewer than the 47 expected this season. It will be the third consecutive year in which Fuji re-writes the record for most number of GT3 cars gathered at an event in Asia.
Ferrari Challenge Japan and the Mercedes-AMG track activity will take Fuji’s wider number of GT cars to approximately 100.
18, a soon to be short-lived record, contested Japan Cup’s season opener at Sugo last weekend. That number increases by seven at Fuji where 15 GT3s feature amongst the 25 entries and GTC expands to six Porsche Carrera Cup cars.
GT World Challenge Asia’s entry, meanwhile, is in line with the numbers that raced at Sepang, Mandalika and Chang.
Qualifying and all four 60-minute races will be streamed live with Japanese and English commentary on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel. Meanwhile, fans who attended the recent Super GT event and Super Taikyu 24 Hours at Fuji can access SRO GT PowerTour’s grid walks free of charge (subject to proof of a valid ticket).
